I can't see how there can be a god basically because how did he come to be? I think we are probably an atom or some fungus on something in a larger universe Laughing

I get really pissed off when ever I meet someone who tries to convince me that there is a god. If you want to beleive in something poor desert dwellers made up to give them a reason to live thousands of years ago, go ahead just leave me alone.

The only thing I beleive in is the struggle of Good vs. Evil and the way they are veiwed visa versa from either side.

If you don't believe in God how can you believe in a concept of good or evil? If there is no God, devil, afterlife etc. then there is no need for such things. Perhaps there can be good and bad (IMO a different concept from good and evil), but good vs. evil is just another term for God vs. satan. That's the way I see it.

As for me, I do believe in God at the moment, but I definately would not rule out the possibilty of his non-existence.

No, I do not beleive that two "super-beings" control or rule over either side.

The concept of good and evil (good & bad, whatever you want to call it) goes back to the argument that people say god or satan must exist because we as people have morals, but I think there are universal moral laws (subjective to humans of course) that people assume to be a higher being influencing our lives.

i bet will die out in a few hundred years or so, and become really cvlt. haha. i go to a school where religion is manditory for your first three years anyway. yes i had an exam in it and somehow by only staying for 1/2 an hour i mange to get a B. well anyway. my mate came u pwith something which can provide hours of entertainment seeing people struggle with their faith.

simply she asks the religion teacher, what if someone is really bad and will definatly go to hell, but the yare your friend and you love the mdeeply and you are a christian. the best excuse he could come up with was that heaven is so great you will forget all about your friend and it will be like they never existed. how is tha tfor an answer.

there are many variations of the hastling christians jokes i will leave it up to you. is it just me or does the bible descripion of heaven not seem tha tgreat. i mean what do you get from a lifetime of worship, another life where you have wha tyou want. sounds boring. the funniset things are stuff not permitted by the church so how can you have all you want if its not permitted. t obe honest i could g oon all day wit hstuff like this, but i will save it for other posts. hope you could make some sense out of that.

Religion is a means for feeble minded people to place some value on thier lives because they cannot contribute anything worthwhile to society or themselves. We as a species are so caught up in our illusions of self-importance and our fear of death that we need to believe there is a greater purpose out there, we have must have a higher calling...we must be special. Wake up and smell the coffee kids, we are special. Through the miracles of EVOLUTION, we have become the dominant force on this planet, we have developed greater intelligence than any inhabitant of this planet, past or present, hell we've even sent signs of our intelligence into intergalactic space. The down side to our intelligence is that we have such an instinctual desire to understand that which we do not comprehend, that we'll believe any half assed notion that is presented to us; this is where religion enters the picture. Say you as an individual had great aspirations of power, but to get power you need help from other people. Well if people realize you're gaining power over them, survival instinct will kick in and people will rebel against you. So what do you do? You appeal to their fears of the unknown. Proclaim yourself a prophet, preach about a fire and brimstone god that demands you follow certain rules (so you can keep the people you need from fighting amongst themselves) and uphold your religion in times of peace and against any adversaries. Now you have an army to fight against anyone that stands against you (the crusades or the current situation in the middle east), and you have people giving everything they gain in life to your religion because you have scared them into believing that if they live a corrupt life, thier souls will burn for eternity. Now you can laugh all the way to bank every time you passed around the collection plate.....I'm an ordained minister's son, and I've had this discussion SOOOO many times with my dad...I'm just gonna stop now. Freakin' religion.

Actually religion was created by men to explain events in nature to people that were alive before the invention of an education. Mostly when people think of religion they think of monothesitic religon, but we must also note that monotheism borrows alot of similar elements (some scholars call these archetypes) that are inherent in many different stories. I believe that people misuse religion. It is ment to be used to help someone to understand the life experience. But there are those that take things way to seriously, and that does not nessicarily mean that all who follow that peticular religon. I personally belive in the erradiaction of Judeo-Christain and Musilm religions; we must return to our roots! We have become blind with the pride given to us by so called do-gooders, but they really are pulling the wool over our eyes; which is the exact opposite of what religion is supposed to do. Of course the whole circle or mono-theistic realigons (Christianity, Judiasm and Islam) may take advatage of the fear of men, men are traditoanlly weak and, unless properly educated, unaware of his possibilites. Out of all the things in the world the biggest hyporcasy is a Christian Scientist...
